Android :: Use HTC Incredible Arm Exercise / Training Band?
Aug 18, 2010
The title basically says it. I am looking to use my incredible HTC Incredible as I run/workout and am looking for a good armband. Does anyone have any suggestions? I see some "Universal" ones out there but would prefer something that would fit the phone well.
So like many of you I use my phone for everything possible and take it everywhere I go. For me this includes the gym and I will need an armband for the Incredible once I get it. Are there any options yet? If so what and where? And yes I know many people think working out with a ~$600 device is crazy but that is why I pay for insurance. And I am a long time lurker so hello everyone 3 days.
Installed latest 2.2 version of OS ... it will not recognize my N band wifi signal. I did add the 5 ghz SSID and CORRECT WPA security password ... phone still does not recognize the N band. I tried rebooting .. tried re-entering N band data ... nothing ... tried rebooting nothing ..
Has anyone connected with their N band wifi radio/router? If so .. can you post the secret handshake?

I'm an athlete, and for my sport i like to keep track of hours spent training, and notes on distance cover etc.. I was wondering if there was any sort of app that could help with keeping track if these things.
I'm using cardio trainer to log my running and it's great but I've noticed quite a few others out there. Also I want to log my exercises in the gym. I've just installed WorkitOut, which seems good but basic. I've had a look at FitSync but it seems to need an internet connection and I don't get a signal in the gym.I've also installed Calorie Counter which is great for logging food.

Any other weekend athletes out there that train for triathlons and are using android apps?I'm new to the app world but am very interested in knowing if there are any running, cycling programs available to track routes, times and with the GPS even speed.
For a new radio project i am looking for a voip client that supports high quality audio transfer. So not the "normal" narrow band voip sound but just like a normal conversation/radio etc. Is there something free on the market?
Been playing with the handset for a few days now. Playing for the sake of playing. Its time to play on something I think. Ones that use the potential of the desire, free ones to start with. Maybe something that uses motion, like some of the iphone games I have seen. Some are basic but really addictive such as getting a ball to drop down platforms before it gets crushed at the top of the screen (not sure what its called). Also a decent brain training DS type game?
I have been trying to get an arm band for the vanilla galaxy S, mostly for jogging and I was wondering if any of you have tried any. I have been living in the Netherlands at the moment and it rains quite a bit in here. Since I don't mind jogging in the rain, I would also like an arm band that would be just as resilient and also keeps the phone in one place rather than having it it bouncing it my pocket. So if you can recommend something, I would really appreciate it. I have been looking at the one from belkin but I don't even know if it will fit this phone.
Is there a way to tell which frequency band(s) a droid is currently using? I want to buy one of the z boost repeaters and it would be nice to be able to save and get a single band model, but how can I tell? I would assume my droid could tell me what it's currently using..
Is there a way to force the phone onto the 850mhz gsm band for ATT. I just want to be able to use this phone inside my work. My xenon workerd fine inside buildings and never disconnected. This one disconnects frequently.
I'm trying to change back the band mode settings to "automatic" or "europe"
Why? I messed around with minimalistic text to get a widget that toggles the data connection on and off. But ended up with a widget that opens the band mode settings. The settings show only one choice "USA band", therefore I ended up with no connection at all.
I tried *#*#4636#*#* to change the settings back but it won't work.
[update] You can start the bandmode selection like this:
-start the debugging mode -start an adb shell -type:
am start -n com.android.settings/.BandMode
In the list is only one entry "USA band" although 6 entries should be listed
I tried flashing reliance India prl file using qpst build355 on my samsung epic, after the re-boot it is not working shows in the airline mode. there is a circle with a line on the point wher signal bars appear, and the base band version and hardware version shows as unknown. tried flashing the original samsung rom again using oden but after that also it has the same problem can anyone help me with this.
I got my Fascinate yesterday and today idk if its just me but today I noticed when scroll the notification screen down, I see a band of unusual green but when I scroll up to my home screen nothing happens. I tried dead pixel test and nothing showed up. Is it a software issue? or a hardware issue?
The company I work for is looking to send someone off for formal training in Android, that person most likely being me.Mailing list regular Mark Murphy is holding a 5-day course in December through Big Nerd Ranch but my company is hoping to do this in the next month. Knowing who he is makes me feel more comfortable suggesting that course but since I can't wait that long,I'm having trouble finding other offerings and feeling comfortable about recommending them.Aside from Big Nerd Ranch, the only other offering I can find is through Marakana .I've not heard of these folks before, which doesn't mean much since I've never really looked either.I'm curious to know if anyone here has gone through any formal training, or if you could where would you look?
I have an European Milestone on AT&T in the US. As AT&T uses a 3G band incompatible with it, I only have EDGE available. My question is, if I flash the North American version ROM, can I get it to work on a different band, or is that a hardware issue unfixable in software? I would like some references to back an answer.
With the lack of support the Eris has gotten for upgrading the OS, is there any concern that the Incredible will face the same fate in the future? Are we seeing a standard being set with the HTC phones that the OS support will be lacking? I don't know how often Android will be updated, but I'd hate to buy this phone only to see the OS upgraded in 6-12 months for other Android phones but not the Incredible.
Does anyone know if there is an Icon of the Incredible? I would like to replace the old telephone receiver icon on the dock with an Icon of the Incredible. If not could someone make me one from a picture or explain how to reduce the pic to a sice for the Icon? Currently I downloaded the Windows 7 icon pack from the market and i'm using the default cell phone icon which looks like an old canybar Nokia.
Over the past week, the display on my DInc has been slowly tinting toward a redish/pink hue. It appears the greys are turning pink. Anybody having this problem with their device? Is there a setting to work out the color balance anywhere?
This folder includes screen shots that are used for Internet Browser bookmarks. It also includes screen shots of web pages that I did not choose to bookmark. When I clear cache while in "Internet" in "Manage Applications" it does not remove these jpg files that are not being used for bookmarks. When I clear everything while in Internet app (in settings) it does not remove these jpg files either. It also does not remove them from within the HistoryEraser app. The only way I can remove the jpg files is with Astro or when connected to PC. I have to go through them and erase jpgs that I do not want there.
There were 72 jpg files in that directory and they go all the way back to when I got phone (on 4/29). I have only added 5 bookmarks myself during that time. They do not take up a lot of space but I just don't want them there.
I have my original gmail account "slaved" to my google apps account, so when I log in to email@example.com it displays my google apps firstname.lastname@example.org as being logged in. For most things this is great, but now with the android phone there are some gotchya's First was the Market. I had to create yet another gmail account to buy anything off the market, because when I sign in to my 'gmail' account on my phone it signs me in as an apps user.
Second, is my google voice (attached to gmail) has its own set of contacts associated with my gmail account, and they are not synced with my google apps account. I was hoping the phone would sort of mesh them together, however I'm not seeing that. On my iPhone I was using soocial, however they recently stopped allowing unlimited contacts and their new free limit is below my number of contacts. Is there a way for the phone to keep these to contact lists "connected" and synced together?
I bought an Eris on the 28th, but returned it sunday within the 30 day grace period to wait for the incredible. And its killing me xD.I had to switch back to my winmo 6.1 HTC vx6900, and switching back from android is rough. Truly, it is a day to day struggle that we must cope with one step at a time. Tasks that used to be so simple, like editing a contact or sending a text, are now unwieldy by comparison.Who else here has had to do this? Am I alone in having to deal with this?
I had a rooted Incredible using this method before however I had a problem with the on screen keyboard so I got a replacement. The replacement just came yesterday. Now I am rooting the replacement and the Unrevoked 3 program gets stuck at "Waiting for root... (Safe to restart if this doesn't work)"
I have the HBOOT drivers installed and my phone comes up in device manager as "Android Composite ADB Interface"
Did they apply a new update to the phone that prevents rooting? If so how long before I can get around it?
What more can be said The Incredible meter is totally defective. This is what I got today. Also by popular demand direct Db readouts on both phones. Here is the proof the HTC battery bar meter is 110% DEFECTIVE!
I have been researching for some time now, but have yet to come up with an actual fix. I have my Incredible paired with my Altima and can make calls via Bluetooth with no problem. My question is, how can I wirelessly stream music or Pandora from my phone to my car (Altima does not have an aux jack). I know my car is capable because I was able to do this with my old Blackberry (exactly how I don't remember, it was an intricate process of pressing random buttons).
So i was out the other night with a few friends and we decided to race our phones going to various web sites. We laid all three phones down in a triangle next to each other. We would all type in the same web site and hit go at the same time. My incredible was killing them. Compared to the droid, the incredible would load the site about 5 seconds faster. The iphone was not even close. One site took about 15 to 20 seconds longer to load on the iPhone. They were shocked at how fast the incredible was. I am so glad I have this phone!
