View 5 RepliesThe subject is pretty much it. With pattern lock security enabled, what happens during an incoming call? Must you enter the pattern to pick up the call, or can you simply press "Send"?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe recently purchased the Moment for my daughter, she has had the phone for 2 days. It seems she does not remember the lock pattern and we have not signed up yet for a gmail account. We have tried holding the left and center button then holding the right after a battery pull but when the progress bar comes up(grey) it goes a little over halfway then stops, it never finishes. I have done a search and came up with nothing else. She has 2.1 if that helps.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Droid keeps losing the setting for screen timeout. It resets to no option being selected, which means about a 5 second timeout. I have to reselect 30 seconds, etc. I can't seem to find a pattern of situation leading up to it. Started on 2.01 and continued after 2.1 upgrade. Never rooted.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening lately. Every time I set my screen timeout to anything other than the default 30 seconds, it will just change itself back in a couple of minutes. I can't think of any apps I've installed recently that could possibly be causing this. Any ideas on how to fix this?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI had the weird issue of my screen staying on after texts, missed calls, etc.to the point that it would continue to drain the battery if I let it.The only way to remedy this was seemingly to activate the puzzle lock piece. On a missed text, call, etc., the screen would turn on to notify me with a visible puzzle lock screen, but then shut off after literally 1 second. Now I feel like I'm in a race against my own phone to detect a text and rip it out of my pocket to swipe the screen before it goes black and I have to hit the sleep/power button to turn it back on and swipe it that way. It's stupid.Yes, I want the screen to not be on all day, but damn.1 second? Is there any happy medium?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am not happy with the lack of locking options coming from a blackberry. This is problem I face: I am waiting for a huge page to load, or downloading something from the market and I am not interacting with the phone. I have the screen set to turn off in 30 seconds to conserve battery. Every time the screen turns off I have to enter the unlock pattern!
Here is what I would like to do:
Only lock the phone and require the unlock pattern if the phone is manually put to sleep with the power button, or if I haven't touched the phone in XX minutes. It would be great if the screen could turn off, but NOT require the lock pattern until its been off for XX minutes. How to do this for free or a cheap app? I am on an HTC Incredible.
I made the switch from the (surprise) iPhone on the day of release to the Moto Droid. I really do like the phone, but there are 2 consistent quirks that I can't find an answer to after searching Google and many many forums.
1. Lock screen timeout. This one really annoys me for some reason (probably just because I feel like it's a waste of battery life). So I have the screen timeout set for 1 minute, so if I have the phone unlocked, and I don't use it for 1 minute then it locks itself (fine, good). BUT, if I have the phone locked, and I just hit the Home/Lock button on the top of the phone to see the lock screen, WHY does the lock screen stay on for the same amount of time (1 minute) before going off again??? If I don't unlock the phone, I just want that screen to turn off quickly, maybe in 5-10 seconds.
2. Gmail notification. I have 2 gmail accounts (1 for school, 1 personal), and it's the only mail I use or have set up on the phone. All I want to have is a notification of gmail in the taskbar so when I hit the Home/Lock button and see the lock screen, I can tell if I have gmail or not. I DON'T want the LED to blink if I don't check or delete the mail (turning LED gmail notification off). (Having the number of mails would be nice too, either in the taskbar or on the home screen, or optimally, both).
I'm looking for an app, similiar to Pattern Control for Froyo 2.2 so I can change the lockout time before I have to enter in my pattern lock. Does this exist? I like having a password (pattern), but I hate having to enter it every time my screen goes black.

Even if I did have the pattern lock did anybody create a way to hack it and unlock it like they did with the iPhone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are writing our own application to substitute G1 standard screen lock (where you have to draw a pattern between the dots on the screen). View 9 Replies View RelatedToday I made the mistake of setting a pattern lock, and with my horrible memory this did not go well. I could not remember it and after several tries I decided to hit the "forgot password." It asked for my gmail account, and I do not remember creating one, after many tries, I gave up. Is my only option a hard reset? I have a samsung moment.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf someone finds or steals the phone, can the pattern lock be bypassed on a CDMA phone (not sure if GSM phones are vulnerable to SIM replacement as a bypass)? If not, perhaps that's pretty good security, so long as you're careful not to let others see your unlock pattern and you wipe the screen to remove your finger trail. Of course that still leaves the sd card unprotected, but if keep everything important in your dropbox, you can delete it from there, and probably do so before the person decides to pull the card out.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor about a year I was using an HTC Desire with Android 2.2.1 Froyo. Here I was using a default pattern lock screen }by default I mean native, not any app from Market). On this screen there was the background I had set for my home/lock page and also there were some other information (time, date, battery status when charging, etc.).
Yesterday I've (finally) bought an HTC Sensation XE (in USA known as Rezound) which has Android 2.3.4. Here on pattern lock screen there is no background, only a black color and also no other info as I was used to with Android 2.2.1.
Do You know if there is some setting or workaround to just have a normal background image I have set for my home/lock screen or is this option totally gone here and the black is only I can get?
I provide a small tool called PatternControl via the market that give the users the opportunity to temporary deactivate the Android "lock pattern" for a definable amount of time. With other words: After entering the pattern, the pattern becomes deactivated for i.e. 5mins and re activates it self afterwards. Until now (Android < 2.2) this was only possible by changing the settings directly, because there was no related API provided. (i.e.with something like set Boolean (Settings .System.LOCK_PATTERN_ENABLED, enabled)) It is clear that this in not a good way, but from my knowledge there was no alternative. My hope was, that Froyo would introduce a new API to handle things like that "legally". With the new security model of Android 2.2 writing to this kind of settings is now disallowed and the PolicyManager class seems just to offer password complexity options. So here is my question: Is there still any way to temporary deactivate the "lock pattern" as long as Android does not support such a delay functions natively?
