Did anybody encounter the RuntimeException with the message "Unknown error"?
java.lang.RuntimeException: Unknown error at android.os.Process.setProcessGroup(Native Method) at android.app.ActivityThread.handleChangeTopApp(ActivityThread.java:3663) at android.app.ActivityThread.access$4100(ActivityThread.java:126) at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:2039) at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4595) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java: 860) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:618) at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method)
Every 5 minutes this error pops up "Sorry! the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectdly. please try again." It doesnt actually close anything. It pops up even when im not in an app. So it's more annoying than anything.
What is weird to me is that on the closeup line graph the second half plummets much faster than the first half. But at the same time, the second half doesn't nearly have as many wakelocks (as indicated by the "Awake" bar being basically completely empty during that time.
What the mobile network colours represent but I never had this problem previously with it on all the time so this shouldn't be an issue. GPS is always on. Again, this was never an issue until supposedly now so this also shouldn't be an issue.
Now, the four big drainers are Cell Standby, Android System, Google Services, and Android OS. Cell Standby I know is due to a missplaced decimal point in the framework, so I know that's just false battery recording. Android System I don't have a clue what the problem is, I read somewhere it might have to deal with wakelocks. But it won't tell me what process exactly is causing battery drain. Google Services are well, google services. I don't know what are classified as google services exactly (like this was never a problem before..), and finally Android OS. Again, the battery statistics thing isn't nearly specific enough.
I've never seen this process before today. My power went from 100 to 20% very quickly for some reason. When I checked the battery usage, whisperd was using 87%. I've never seen whisperd before, let alone have a process use that much of the battery. how to disable it?
When the service is first called and no MediaPlayer-object exists, the stream is started correctly. But when the onStart()-method is called again (with the player streaming) I get the above error code. I can't find any information about this error code, so I turn to you for help. Replacing mp.pause() with mp.stop() makes it work. Could it be that the stream does not support pausing? It's an online radio stream (RTSP) in the SDP format.
I have just set-up the AndroidSDK in Eclipse in linux. Everything was going smoothly until I hit the final run that would run the emulator and start the application. I came up with an "[2009-08-29 10:28:35 - HelloAndroid] Unknown error: " Is their a way to run the emulator by itself just to check if its that?
I am getting an error in my Problems tab for my Android Project in Eclipse. The error is "Android Packaging Problem" with an Unknown location. Unknown Error NullPointerException
I cannot determine what this problem is. My project was working a few hours ago. The only change I made was to add a public interface ITrackDao to my project and implement it. There are no errors associated with this. I am not even sure where to begin to look. I cannot launch the application.
I've moved some of my common code into a library project so that multiple projects can access it. I created an empty project, set it to be a library in the properties screen, then imported some classes. Next, I created a new (non library) project and added my new library project to it. Immediately upon rebuild, I get the following error: ERROR: Unknown option '--auto-add-overlay' Android Asset Packaging Tool
I am in need of help to complete my application. I am trying to execute a project that uses and android library. Basically I am trying to execute the android facebook sdk to run the sample code provided at http://github.com/facebook/facebook-android-sdk 1. I have downloaded the sdk and extracted the zip file to a folder 2. I used Eclipse galileo import to create an android project from existing resource. I imported the sdk source code (facebook folder of the sdk) into my project explorer successfully. I can also run Build Project for this source code. 3. Now, I am trying to import the sample example in it. The project is imported but I cannot execute it. I cannot build the project. Code...
Not sure what is going on. Running Windows Vista x64. Not had really any problems with eclipse. I had to upgrade to 1.5 and when I did that I got all kinds of install errors. So I said 'f-it'. I decided to start over and downloaded the 1.5SDK, downloaded the Eclipse for Java, Not Eclipse classic (someone said that was an issue). So now I have Eclipse for Java (or something to that name). Each time I try to compile it says 'Unknown Error: SDK is not loaded yet'
I have an Orange branded Hero and just tried to upgrade from build 188.8.131.52 (Firmware 1.5) to ROM Version:184.108.40.206 as I believe this is necessary in order to get the latest version of Android (2.1). Right at the start of the upgrade process I get an error message saying
Error unknown error. The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone. Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again. I rang Orange and they couldn't help. I managed to speak to someone who understood the information I was telling him but he was not able to help other than do a Google search whilst I was on the phone to him. The suggestion was that the internal phone storage is insufficient to handle the 103MB image size of the upgrade file. I have now deleted all my apps (after backing them up) and have 123MB internal phone storage available space which should easily be enough but I'm still getting the error.
I have been having trouble updating my PRL (esp. to get the battery fix without switching to airplane mode, since it messes up with the GPS) I have tried it with good/bad reception and I always get the same message "unknown error". Is it a deal breaker (should I return/exchange my Epic? Does the Airplane on/off fix messes up with the GPS permanently?
Sometime in the last couple days i've not been able to install any apps from the market or amazon. They show they are downloading just fine, but Installation always fails. I click on the details and get the "unknown reason -110 " The only thing I've done different is buy aThrive tablet and log into all my gmail and market stuff.
I'm having trouble with the drivers, just like many others. Now, when trying to uninstall so I can reinstall, I get: Unknown install error. Contact to distributors. Then when I click OK, I get: Fatal error during install.
Just installed JB, but a bunch of apps didn't restore (including Titanium Backup) and won't let me install from the Play Store. I can watch it download the app, but then it throws the error and won't install.
I have developed an Android Widget, and it was working fine. I added some extra functionality and pushed an update through the Android Market. Now people are complaining that it doesn't work anymore.
The error I see in the logs is:
I cannot find anywhere what the process is bad error means. Restarting the phone (or emulator) makes the error go away, however, that is not what I want my users to do. explain what the cause of the error is.
I am trying to decompile contacts.apk from my micromax a52. I tried from apk manager and apk multi tools but it is giving error.
Code: can't find framework resources for package of id:2.you must install proper framework files. now i installed framework files to my computer and also by using "pull dependencies from device". but still couldn't decompile it properly.it is also giving error during recompiling if i ignore those error and mod it.
Code: Exception in thread "main" brut.androlib.AndrolibException: brut.androlib.AndrolibException: brut.common.BrutException: could not exec command: [aapt, p, --min-sdk-version, 10, --target-sdk-version, 10, -F, C:UsersamanAppDataLocalTempAPKTOOL2048703324560073052.tmp, -0, arsc, -I, C:Usersamanapktoolframework1.apk, -S, C:APK-Multi-Toolother..projectsContacts.apk
I used insecure boot and root trying to root my phone, which was a huge mistake as i noticed a few minutes later since i cant startup anymore and only get into bootloader.
Now I'm trying to flash my stock rom back.
My CID is VODAP102 and my Version is 220.127.116.11 so i downloaded the rom and tried "fastboot flash boot boot.img" the result is: sending 'boot' <8192 KB>... FAILED <data transfer failure <Unknown error>> finished. total time: 0.158s
I have an updated apk - tested successfully on various devices and simulator instances - with the following manifest:
When I post to Android Marketplace as an upgrade to my existing 1.0 app, I get the aforementioned ambiguous message: "The server could not process your apk. Try again."
I just tried to upload the same file again. Now I get a new message:
The new apk's versionCode (2) in AndroidManifest.xml must be higher than the old apk's versionCode (2). The server could not process your apk. Try again.
So Marketplace did get my upgraded apk after all? (The very first accepted apk's versionCode was 1, so this update was of course bumped to 2.) Confused ...
Bumping it up to 3 and trying again. Surprise surprise, I get the original "could not process" error all over again. Going in circles.
If I exit and re-enter the Marketplace page, now it shows that the app has been uploaded! Except there's no app icon. Curiouser and curiouser ... and this is all happening with a cache-cleared (standards-friendly) browser to boot.
Is anyone getting this error: "The process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. PLease try again." It started this morning after I did the prl update. When I hit force quit the error keeps appearing and appearing.
I believe I accidentally (as a dumb noob) deleted the TelephonyProvider.apk and the Sprint_Promotion.apk apps. I got them on my SD card and have been trying unsuccessfully to reinstall them all night on package installer but I keep getting this wonderful "process com.android.phone" force close message. I managed to get my phone into airplane mode thinking if I disconnected it from the internet I could stop the error messages and do the installs off my SD card but to no avail. I'm trying to do it through Package Installer.
I'm un-rooting my phone using OMJ's guide in the everything root related guide, and I'm getting a "Failed Flashing Process" error in RSD Lite.
I am running as admin, I have the correct drivers (I recently rooted...), I have the sbf in C: .... yet it fails.
The error says " Failed Flashing Process. Failed Flashing Process. Interface BP: Error flashing subscriber unit. Device API Error: 0xE0030009 Command: ADDR (0xE0231009); phone connected"
I am going to try flashing SPRecovery to see if I can at least get to a working point.
SPRecovery worked. It boots into 2.1 and has SPRecovery as the recovery. I still want to get it to stock, so I am going to try and download the stock sbf again (it doesn't have a checksum so I have no way of knowing if it is good or not...) .... here goes nothing!
Okay -- so I finally mustered up the courage to root and try a lag fix. I rooted using the unleash the beast files. And then tried the lag fix over at XDA found here: xda-developers - View Single Post - [UTIL] One Click Lag Fix 2.0
I ran the lagfix_ext2, like the forum says -- it took about 10 minutes to do some things ...There was an error message in the middle saying that it had to stop the process. I said okay, but the process kept working, finished, and then rebooted. It booted up, and I downloaded quadrant again (it was gone for some reason), ran it, and only ran an 895 -- this is 16 points less than what i ran just using the unleash the beast. Should I try the lag fix again?
