Android :: Notepad With Search Function / SD Card Import Export
Mar 9, 2010
A little if u please. I'm looking for a notepad app with search function and sd card import/export.I checked out the note everything and the AE text but saw no search function, maybe I missed something. What I'm looking to do is search specific words say for medication lists and whatnot and have that medication name pop up.Any help with notepad is greatly appreciated.
I'm trying to get my google contacts not only to show up in my phone's google address book but my phone's address book, so I can use VZW backup asst, which only backs up from your phone's address book. I can't find import/export addresses. The VZW guy told me to send contacts to sd and import them... can't find any way to do that on the X.
I would need to export the shared preferences and load it on another device. Is this possible in a direct way somehow? (without exporting the keys one by one and writing to a custom file) Another question is that there is any XML parser which has the same functionality like SharedPreferences (getstring/addstring, getint/ addaddint etc.) and saves/loads the result to a path anywhere? (sdcard for example) I know SharedPreferences uses some xml's in the background but that xml is not readable as a file without admin rights as far as I know so it's not quite suitable for what I need.
I has some interesting sync/import/export features. I am curious about it asking for my gmail info. More info about how this works would be great, as it might work as a great way to populate my contact db which is still suffering.
1)Import and export contacts from/to SIM and SD card? How can I access SIM card directory or something like that? 2)Send contact by SMS? 3)Open activity for SMS typing and set some contacts as targets? 4)List accounts when I create new group or contact? Do "features" of account authenticator include "creating android contact with this account type"?
Comments for everything: I know, I should explore some Google apps (and I even downloaded their sources), but my customer wants this functions just now, so I almost have no time.
Comment for 2 and 3: it would be enough to list all available extras for sms intent.
Comment for 4: the main question is, how to include phone account. As I understood, for every company it's unique: one for HTC, one for Samsung and so on. How can I find suitable account type and name for any phone?
I'm using an S2 and what I really hate to lose when I change into a custom ROM is its calendar widget. So is it possible if I revert back to stock rom and extract that widget to be used in a custom ROM?
After I got the message with <a href=tel:+4369917343674>Roland Msl</a> to link a telephon number by thml, I make big plans to have my mind2 database on my phone. Usual when I make a phone call, I put this with some remarks in my database. But when I am underway only with my Android, the best possibility would be to have the phone call list exported from the phone to update my database at last with time and duration of calls to perons in my database
So the most important question to orgaise now is: How to export the call list to the SD-card BTW is there also a navigation link syntax? Maybe something like <a href="nav:A-5082 Gartenau Drachenlochstrasse 1c/5>My home address</a> And when I click on the Link, the navigation software opens with the clicked address as target.
My wife just got Motorola Droid 2 with Android 2.2 running on Verizon. She is syncing via Google Calendar and is happy with that. It appears that the great search company that is Google did not put in a search function within the native Android Calendar (there is of course within online Google Calendar). What replacement Calendar for droid do you have experience with, that of course synchs with google calendar and also has built in search function.
This question1 describes a way how to show list of phone numbers and select one of them if my app needs a phone number. But image if I have a huge contact list, it is not enough to just show list but possibility for filtering (by contact's name) is also needed. Is there a standard way to show phones list with picking possibility and with filtering possibility? (I wouldn't like to invent my own) Is there a solution for the problem for sdk 2.0 and lower?

I am planning on getting a Desire as it seems like a really nice phone. So I read the user manual on Legend to understand what it can do.
There are some questions:
I have all my contact and calendar info in Outlook 2003 and not in any online account. So I will only sync the phone with PC.
- can Outlook Contact fields like birthday and notes sync to People in the phone? - user manual said I can search on Last Name, First Name in People. Can I search in the notes field? - can I search for events in the Calendar? If so, can it search the whole database, or just up to X number of years in the past?
But please before you do, either read back through the pages of thread titles or search for what the problem is using the search function in the X10 section as the vast majority of questions have already been answered in previous posts. This is a slight rant but for the last month there has been times that the same question has been asked on more than one thread and have even seen 3 of the same threads together on here. Now that is just lazy. So please search first or maybe even give google a try after all it is Android/Google/ Rant over, for now till I get annoyed about SE lies even more so as my mate just installed 2.2 on his Desire and keeps taking the
The latest commercial (for the mto though I guess) where they are talking about search for "HUMAN" and it can search the web, contacts, songs, etc with just that one search. sure you know what commercial I mean. Well, how do I do that!? When I try google search it is just the web-based googlieygoo
Not sure if this is how it's intended to work, but when I try to search through my text messages (go in to Messages app, press the hard search button key), it only seems to search the last sent text for every thread (as opposed to the entire thread).
every time I try to utilize the search function of root explorer, it starts searching through all my folders as usual, but then at the end it gives me this... it never used to do that, and after a few seconds of showing me this screen, it force closes on me.
today, a mayor update for touchpad has been released (v4 -> v5). i like the new look, but the keyboard has lost a key function: it was possible in v4 to hold on a letter and drag it down to write the secondary function.e.g.: hold "h" and drag it down -> "&".it was also possible to edit the secondary functions. v5 doesn't allow me to do this.
I use this button all the time on my DINC for voice commands, usually things like locate .... and it pops up google maps and shows me what I'm looking for. Since Bing is the search engine of choice on the Fascinate, what function will holding down the button serve? Will it still allow Google Voice commands? If not, I think that's a deal breaker for me.
Has the copy/search function been removed from the browser in froyo or did it never have it? When i copy in the browser, I only see the option to share or copy to the clipboard. I have the HTC mytouch slide 3g, running 2.1 and when I copy in that browser, I have the option to search but I don't see that with the Incredible.
I bought unlocked T-mobile G1 phone in US, when I returned to Netherlands with my Vodafone, and the phone repeatedly sends international costing 10 Euros a day. Later I found out myfaves is sending these costly messages, I wanted to turn off myfaves and I followed the following steps: 1. I downgraded my phone from RC33 to RC29 and rooted the phone 2. As I read that all RC3X versions have myfaves, installed JFv1.43_Holiday.zip using the standard procedure (update.zip on SD card, Home+Power, ALT+L, ALT+S, etc) 3. Now I see that myfaves is turned off (no new messages sent), but when I try to import contacts from Vodafone SIM card, the phone crashes with message " The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly, Please try again"
Does anyone know how to clear the history from the quick search function on the X10. As you do, I've given the phone a thourough test looking at a couple of gentlemens interest site and now everytime my kids get hold of the phone I have to quickly retrieve it from them explaining 'I don't want to run the battery down'. Please can you help?
I have just bought a T-Mobile G2 Touch.Which I now also believe is known as the HTC Hero.Unfortunately my existing Contacts are not being picked up from the Sim card. In this phone it is reading as zero. In any other phone 100+.The only work around that I can think of is to upgrade my Outlook client, export to a CSV file, import into Google mail, sync across and then import into the People folder.
Prior to updating I exported my contacts to CSV on my SD card. When I logged into gmail not all of my contacts came back. Is there an app that will allow me to locate my CSV file and overwrite my contact list? Also, for future reference, how can I force my contacts to backup on gmail?
I want to import contact from SIM card to my phone i7500.But this function isn't running. I go to application Contact, press Menu to Import contacts. In the screen, it has message: " Reading from SIM card" and it doesn't has anything. My ROM is Galaxo 220.127.116.11.
