Android :: Not Allowing Horizontal Spacing Between Grid View Item
Jan 23, 2009
Not allowing horizontal spacing between grid view item, I am using following for grid view, I don't want horizontal space between grid view item. android:horizontalSpacing="0px"android:verticalSpacing="0px"
By using this there no vertical space between item. But the horizontal space remain there, how to eliminate this horizontal space between grid items.
I don't know exactly how to explain this problem, but I'll try. I have a ListView with several items. Each item has inside a TextView and two ImageView. I want the ImageView change when I click on them, and I want to open a context menu when I press for a long time into the ListView item. For the ImageView, everything works properly. For the whole item, I can show the context menu after a long press, but my problem is that the ImageView changes as well when I am pressing the TextView, for example.I hope you understand my problem. I think that all the children of a view are affected by an event in the parent, but I am not sure.
I have a HorizontalScrollView with a series of CompoundButtons. I want to find the (x,y) for a given child view. I have tried using:
getLocationOnScreen() getLocalVisibleRect() getChildVisibleRect() like this: View tmpView = this.findViewById(viewId); Rect hitRect = new Rect(); tmpView.getLocalVisibleRect(hitRect); the hitRect is always 0,0 - 0,0.
I need the x,y mainly to scroll to a particular child view. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have a GridView that displays thumbnails of images, I want to change the thumbnail size (zoom in/out) during runtime, what is the best way to achieve this? I changed the columnWidth of gridView during runtime but after that I scroll the gridview and I get memoryoutoferror exception.
What I want is a central column using Grid View, but everything I try does not work. It always aligns to the left. I have tried messing around with layout_gravity and gravity to no avail. I have a Grid View in a Linear Layout: <Linear Layout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent".
I have a GridView of 9 rows of which the first one is sort of "header" row.As there are 8 more rows they flow beyond the end of screen and need to be scrolled down to.However this scrolling also causes the first row to go "off-screen".Was wondering if there is any way I can prevent the first row alone from being scrolled off?I dont want to make this a separate LinearLayout as it is part of a dynamic View (the GridView) that I create at runtime.
I want to display the number of images according to one number. That means if number is 1 i want to display only one imageview in grid,if number is 3 i want to display the 3 images in grid .But i take only one image that means depending on the number that image will be displayed.
GridView is not behaving like it is supposed to. This screenshot shows that the GridView (in landscape mode) is flushed left. I want it centered. This is the XML layout for the GridView. <Linear Layout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/templatelandscape" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <GridView android:id="@+id/commandsbarlandscape" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_weight="1.0" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:layout_centerInParent="true" android:padding="0dp" android:verticalSpacing="2dp" android:horizontalSpacing="2dp" android:numColumns="auto_fit" android:columnWidth="52dp" android:stretchMode="spacingWidth" android:gravity="fill_horizontal">
My purpose is to set headers for related items of grid view and for this i am thinking about to set the width of grid view different for header and sectional view's.if any other way 2 set sectional header for related items is possible?
I'm have a custom GridView Array Adapter. The problem for me is that when the grid list gets large enough to scroll off the screen the gridview and arraylist get out of sync. For instance in my case I have code that checks if an actor is of type director the text color should be red. if you scroll up and down my list enough times all the actors text in my gridview will become red. The thing is that the Gridview appearance actually looks fine its the backing data. Here is the complete class. In the code you can see where I tried to override getItem and getItemId but that didn't fix anything. Code...
Is there a way to re-arrange the applications list in grid view in alphabetical order? If I switch to "list view", they are in alphabetical order, but in grid view, they are not. I could not find a way to do it.
I'm attempting to create a list view that shows clickable items that wrap horizontally much like the To/From/CC/BCC fields in OS X and the iPhone's Mail programs or like the TO field in Facebook's messages (really like most mail programs). My questions are: 1. Is there a way to do this with a ListView? Everything I've seen and experimented with is either horizontal scrolling or vertically stacking, but not horizontal wrapping. If there's a way, would you point me in the right direction as far as first steps to take to implement it? 2. Is anyone aware of an existing app with available source that has a view like this that I could look at as an example? The Google Mail/SMS apps just have single strings that are not clickable for those fields.
I have a horizontal scrollview with text fields, here i need to get the first and last position of textview when i scrolled it,how can i get the position of textview when i scrolled.and also need to know how to set color for text when i clicked the particular text from this. sample code....
Actually i have keep on scrollview inside that scroll view i set one textview at run time i want to set text in that textview. The string which i m going to set is some what big in length so i could not get the string in a single line and i can get my string two or three lines .My scroll view layout width size is 250px.I don't want to exceed that size...My expectation is i want to see that string within that scrollview as single line if the string is exceeds the scroll size then it should horizontally scroll in text view.I tried some functions like setting horizontal scroll to scrollview and textview but nothing is work out.
Is there anyway that when I am in the home screen, I can get it to rotate if I turn the phone horizontal? It seems that in pretty much every screen the phone will rotate, except the home screen. Any ideas?
Is it possible to build a GridView object in XML with 3 columns and 4 rows of Image buttons? It doesn't seem to have similar containment relationship like LinearLayout or RelativeLayout viewgroups.
I want to do this entirely in an xml layout file. When I put ImageButton xml tags inside a GridView xml body, The layout panel in eclipse is throwing an exception: UnsupportedOperationException:addView(View, LayoutParams) is not supported in AdapterView.
If I want to execute the focused item on the view, I need to select focused item and press enter. Now I want to find another way to execute it without using click action. Does everyone know the other way? Thank you very much.
