I have ever saw the similar discussion in this group, but nobody answer. And I am very confusing about this feature. Because most of developers do not seem to meet this problem.
The problem is when I press ENDCALL button, it does not going into Screen Lock view. And I have download the source code of "cupcake" & "android-1.5" & "android-1.5r2" & "android-sdk-1.5_r1" version from Android's GitWeb. The feature of lock screen does not work on the emulator. But it works on the offical SDK version. I don't know what is happened.
Due to a audio issue VZ had me reset my X, a pain for sure. The phone worked but I couldn't figure out how to turn-off the irritated screen lock as it was before the reset. I think I've found the answer on the Moto website it says " <LI style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto" class=MsoNormal>If your DROID X handset had "simple swipe screen lock" turned off and you upgraded your handset to 2.3.15 Froyo update, you will not have the option in settings to turn it back on again because the ability to turn that feature on / off was removed. Can this be the only answer? The just decided to remove a feature like that? Does anyone know of a way to turn of the screen lock?
Can anyone help, I have been looking up this problem for hours now and have come up with no answers... My lock on phone randomly works. Sometimes I turn on phone and its there and sometimes its not. I have phone set for a pattern lock and to set up after 5 minutes.I just turn my desire on sometimes by pressie the top bottom and the finger slide thingy..isn't even there. This can be after 10 minutes or 3 hours no difference.
Okay so all of a sudden yesterday the lock button on my Samsung Moment kind of stopped working. When you press the hang up button on the phone, its supposed to lock. If you hold the hang up button it brings up a menu for power off, sounds off and airplane mode.
For some reason when I press the hang up button to lock the phone, it doesnt work but when I press and hold the hang up button, the menu thats supposed to pop up does.
If the button semi works I cant see it being a problem with the button. My friend says its a software glitch but it worked fine for months and then all of a sudden yesterday morning it stopped working. I HAVE NOT updated the phone or anything recently.
Is there a simple setting that will automatically disable my screen lock when I'm at home or at work? If not a setting, is there an app you recommend?
Long version: I'm fairly new to "devices". I got my first, a wifi-only Samsung tablet about 6 months ago and use it sporadically, mostly when traveling, but also it's become my semi-permanent music player at home. I got my first smart phone, a MotoX about 2 weeks ago. Love the MotoX and feel it's exceptionally well designed, easy to configure, and useful, but I have nothing to compare it to other than my wife's IPhone 5.
I have done a web search for this information. I have also searched and scanned around these forums, but didn't find anything I felt comfortable with in terms of how fussy or current the set up steps are or how current the app recommendations are. The two apps I've come across are, IIRC, called "Delayed Lock (trial or paid)" and "Unlock with WiFi".
My question is - today, mid-October 2013 - how do you recommend disabling screen lock while at certain locations. I imagine I'll be using it strictly at work or at home, both of which have wifi I connect to automatically. I might want to disable screen lock while driving, but so far have found my MotoX's Assist driving mode to work very well. I might get a Bluetooth device and at that point would probably want to disable the screen lock while that bluetooth device was connected.
I would like to know which method you need to use to access the unlock screen and replace it (something like SlideUnlock or Widget Locker). I want to design an app which could work on any phone even those without a custom ROM. This app would then be overriding the default Lock Screen.
You probably need to create a service but I can't seem to find a source code or a good tutorial on it.
All of a sudden my security lock feature stopped working. I've rebooted several times and the lock screen pops up initially after reboot, but then I do not see it again. I can lock the screen and it goes black, but if I hit lock/home key again it goes straight to home screen.
Is it me, or is there something completely wrong with the Search feature on the calendar of the Droid? I have an Incredible, recently upgraded to 2.2, and when I use the search feature to look for something in my calendar, it says that it is not found, even though i can go to the day I am looking for and the appt is in there!
I've tried the voice feature and it seems to be crap.I've tried it with, and without a bluetooth headset, and it doesn't recognize any name I say.For example, if I want to dial my wife, I say "call martha".it dials the toyota dealer. makes no sense at all.is there something i'm missing? some "set up" i need to go through so i can identify my voice? I'm asking it to dial names in my address book, actually just after she called, i tried it to call her back, no joy.
I have a samsung vibrant. Every time i plug it in its charger, the lock screen will not lock amd if m doing something, the sensitivity of the screen will be thrown of. It doesn't do that if i plug,it,in a computer usb, it doesn't,do that and charges normally. Is that a wide spread issue.
I am plan B and AVG security installed, both don't always work, I have pattern lock on the phone but even in pattern lock mode when i press and hold power button the phone gives me option to shutdown.
If someone steals my phone they will be able to shut it off without unlocking it since holding down power button still works. So is there a way to lock the power button from shutting off phone when the phone is in pattern unlock mode?
Sometimes the screen auto-rotates when I don't want it to if I angle the phone slightly. I am constantly toggling it on and off. To do so of course, I have to go into settings, then display. Does anyone know of an app that I can add the toggle switch as a shortcut on my desktop? It is kind of a pain to go through the settings each and every time. I would much rather just hit it easily on my homescreen.
I have an application which is designed for a fixed screen size. But when i install the application on a device with different screen size ,i am not able to view the complete application. Is it possible to allow layout adjustments based on variable screen sizes? like setting width with some % of screen size which is decided when application installation is done. For eg: 60% of screen size or 60% of relative layout
For those of you who would like to spice up their lock screen, I have created an image of a master lock, that stretches as you slide across the screen!I have included a screen shot of this in action, as well as a link to the .9.png - which needs to be installed using NinjaMorph.I'm loving it, let me know what you think!MultiUpload Download Master Lock .9.PNG
Is there a way to have a phone lock on the Desire, in the way it is used on "normal" phones? What I mean is that I need a phone lock for security reasons - however it is a pain to use it every time I turn the screen on. Is there a way to have it work only when you turn the phone on? Right now if yu don't have a phone/screen lock security set if someone steals your phone they take out the sim card and use the phone normally ... if you do have it, then you must use the password every time you want to use the phone (I hate it). I know the best thing is to have a secured access but I was just wandering if it was possible to do seomething different?
I'm developing an app in which i need the TCP connection to stay alive. I've implemented a kind of ping/pong system to do this. It works perfectly when the screen is on, but when it goes of the phone stops responding to the pings after a while. I've created a Wi-Fi wake lock but i'm still experiencing still the same problem. Code...
LOCK screen aprears at the main screen, after boot the emulator boot up. I want to disable the locking at main screen, So that while next time i boot up my emulator not LOCK screen apears. Can any body suggest me best solution for this?
I have an HTC Evo that hangs up on everyone that calls me.I keep the phone in my pocket and, in trying to pull it out to answer a call, my leg slides the bar.I could keep the phone in my pocket upside down and then I would answer every call but that isn't much of an alternative.I am looking for something that overrides the Sense's lockscreen/answer screen.I tried both GoTo and WidgetLocker. Both are great programs but neither addresses the incoming call issue.
