View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently acquired a Samsung Galaxy android phone. I wish to install applications that I download legally from the internet.I do not agree to the android-market licence agreement and have clicked on "decline". I only wish to install apps that I get elsewhere because I do not approve of the remote-kill clause in the market licence.All tutorials on how to install a downloaded app involve me first installing "app installer" from the market. That cannot be right. I cannot be forced to accept the market licence agreement in order to be able to install non market apps.Any suggestions on how I might get apps installed without ever clicking on "accept" on the market's licence agreement?I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. ANY suggestions welcome. I will not accept a remote kill switch. My files are my files.

I've published an app today mainly for my forum users to use, just a very simple app that displays wallpapers derived from the forum. Problem I'm having is one guy says it doesn't appear in the market and I've even sent him the APK to install manually but it fails. My minimum SDK version is 4, I created it with the 1.6 SDK specified so not sure why he can't see it or install it. He has a 1.6 Magic handset. So just wondering if anyone has any ideas, the app is called bocn wallpaper, it uses internet and set-wallpaper permissions but I wouldn't have thought the permissions were the problem.
My manifest is as follows:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0" package="net.dbws.bocnwallpaper">
<application android:icon="@drawable/launcher_icon" android:label="@string/app_name">
<activity android:name=".Main" android:label="@string/app_name">
<intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
<category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
</intent-filter> </activity>
<meta-data android:value="xxxxx" android:name="ADMOB_PUBLISHER_ID" />
</application>
<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"></uses-permission>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.SET_WALLPAPER" />
</manifest>

View 3 Replies View RelatedI understand there are two ways to distribute one's apps: 1) through the Market and 2) directly to the user. Now that my app is in beta, I would like to give it to a few of my users to test. But how? What I read on the web talks about installing SDKs, tweaking with many options and using an auxiliary app; I deem these to be well beyond the ability or patience of my users. Is there an easier way? What's the EASIEST?
It would be best if the user can simply navigate to the link and download it using their android phone. Is this possible? I am trying to figure out how to instruct my users to download and install it painlessly. (taking the SD card out for intermediate installation is not painless and is prohibitively intimidating). this is a keyboard that you need to invoke, twice, after you install it. Once through Settings> Languages and Keyboards, and the second time through tapping and holding on the text field and selecting. Oh and it's called MessagEase-beta

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm new here.....I have the Samsung Fascinate and I had an app installed that was working fine. All of a sudden it just says installing and I can't do anything with it. I even uninstalled the offending app and it is still hung up on "installing" in the market...won't let me stop...won't let me cancel. I cleared the cache of the market in the manage apps section and that did nothing.

Not even showing up all the paid apps, only see Demo version and tells me to buy at Market. Search wont show up.
Anyone has idea?
How do you pay for it?
My Evo has been selectively updating my apps for the last two weeks.10 total so far. The market version I have is 1.82 and according to the market troubleshooting page the current version is 2.07 for anyone OVER Android 1.6. So is that my problem? I know its supose to auto update but I tried to force it by doing what the troubleshooting page says and nothing, still on 1.82. The only thing that seems to fix this is to uninstall then install it like its new. I've already lost progress on one game and don't feel like doing that again. Any suggestions? Sprint is no help cuz its a market issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have another doubt on how to install the apps. As my handset is missing the Android Market icon in my mobile. So I downloaded to my pc and then copied to my mobile. This "7c02815a-e245-102d-a194-6ec07c99d928.apk" file for bluetooth file transfer and using data cable. I copied that file in my video folder (for self knowing folder I pasted) now I don't see that file in my mobile video folder. So how will I install? The application Market (Pprocess com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. All I can do is force close. If you go to manage applications it is not there so I can not clear cache etc.
I just installed Froyo in Kies. Everything went smoothly and the phone seems to work like a charm after installation. The only thing weird but not bad was that all the applications were in different order. BUT the first bad thing I noticed was that the Android Market application was gone! Is this normal? Can I get it back somehow?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe title basically says it, there are a handful of apps that I can not figure out how to re-download through App Brain or directly through the Market after installing the 2.2 update.And a few others, but those are the ones I paid for and would like to have now.Are these not compatible with Froyo? Or does anyone have an explanation for why they would be showing up as not found in the Market?
