View 1 RepliesI will describe briefly my trouble with audio recording.
So, I am doing audio recording using MediaRecorder, but unfortunately when I playback the recorded audio, I have media with a very low volume. I don't here anything (almost anything).
Is there any possibility to setup recording volume?
I use in-ear headphones which usually perform at very high volume. That is to say, I have to put the volume very low on the phone for an optimal use.
However, my HTC Desire, even at the lowest possible volume, is still too loud for my fragile ears. Is there any way to fix this and change volume settings?
So we all know the speaker is kind of quiet. Does anyone know if there is an app or program I can use to amp all output volume? I know using your own
media for alarms and ringtones. But what about games and speakerphone etc?
I've had 2.0d on my hero for a couple of weeks now. I'm totally happy with it...
except a few days ago people kept telling me they can't hear me or that im "really faint"..
Anyone experience this? I wanna rule out the ROM before I call sprint or blame hardware...
I've noticed times when my in-call volume is stuck on high even when turned all the way down to the lowest setting. I traced this to having previously connected to a bluetooth device for phone use (this happens with two different bluetooth accessories). After disconnecting from bluetooth (whether or not the bluetooth antenna is also turned off), call volume is extremely loud and doesn't respond to the volume-down key. I have to reset the phone to get it back to normal. Anyone else notice this? Any fix for this? I presume this is a bug in the Android 2.1 OS. BTW--this also happens with a friend's Eris running a 2.1 leak v3.

No ringers, no audio in videos, no touch tones, nothing. All the ringers are turned up, it's NOT on silent mode.
I can however talk on the phone, the ear piece works. Mic works too.
I just flashed Fresh 0.5.x coming from 0.3
I love my Evo 4g but I have to say it lacks in sound quality. Phone calls get distorted if the volume is set too high. It sounds bad like the speaker is blown, I wonder if this is an actual defect or if it can be fixed with a software update. I also use Pandora and mp3 player and when I use my 3.5 mm to cassette adapter in my car the low/mid range frequencies are hollow sounding. I use many other devices in my car (ipod, laptop,Samsung mp3 etc.) And none sound like this. I've also plugged directly into home surround system and bose inner ear head phones and noticed this. I hope they can fix this with a OTA update .....

View 7 Replies View RelatedI could not find a specific thread about my question so i thought i would start one. is anyone else having the issue on their speaker that it gets distorted when the volume is high. plus i think the sound is not even that loud when its high. is this how the sprint htc hero is or do i need to get a new one?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy project contains three drawable's folders: drawable-hdpi, drawable-mdpi and drawable. I build it with android:minSdkVersion="3". When it runs on Andriod 1.6 or higher it always uses images from drawable-mdpi on high density screens.
How to fix this?
The Android documentation says that best practices are to make two drawable directories - one for HDPI and one for MDPI. It also says that if the MDPI directory doesn't exist and a MDPI device is running the app, it will scale down the HDPI ones so everything looks good. Is there any reason not to just make one high resolution set of graphics? One con that I can think of is performance issues and one pro I can think of is only having one set of images for your app.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm building a game with graphic assets in hdpi resolutions (hence I put the files in drawable-hdpi directory). I don't want to have a corresponding mdpi resolution of the images, and I will code everything in 240-dpi based pixel coordinates.
Is it possible to still allow mdpi and ldpi devices to run the application, by automatically scaling the graphics from the hdpi version? Optimize for high-dpi devices only but still support (small- and) medium-dpi screens.
I am a big fan of mythbusters and i'll bet that many of your are too. I like all those high speed camera shoots and i was thinking if would it be possible to make an app to use the camera to shoot high speed videos. I am not thinking like professional high speed video (those go up to millions of fps) but more like up to 1000 or 500. The desire should be able to shoot hd 720p video (lets hope with the next update) and may be would be possible to to make lower resolution high speed videos. I think the cpu is enough, but would the camera be able?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy speaker buzzes all the time on my phone (not the speaker phone - it works fine). It's not a network buzz, it's a vibration buzz of the metal or speaker. The center camera is also off-center a little bit, which makes me think something up there is off-center, misglued or loose.
We have two other evos and neither of them buzz on the same call. I called the Sprint Nav Voice Address thing from all 3 phones since that would be the exact same voice and words every time. Only mine buzzes. The other two don't have the camera problem either.
I'm looking for a volume control application (or apps that work together) to
1) Change volumes, vibrate etc. at certain times
2) Lock the volume slider (I'm fed up constantly changing the ringer vol)
I have looked through loads of apps but haven't seen one that does both, and if I use 2 separate programs they fight with each other. I'd prefer one with a widget but not a deal breaker. I currently use Timeriffic for the volume settings/timing and Volume Locker for the locking.
I am the happy owner of a HTC Legend and a pretty old laptop with Ubuntu Linux installed. Is there any app that lets me control volume etc. on my computer via wifi?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to use volume buttons to control a variable parameter in my application. I use Activity.onKeyDown to get notified when the button is pressed but the media volume is also increased. Android is doing something like below when I press the volume key:
1. increase media / ringtone volume
2. pass the event to my application
Is there a way to avoid increasing the system volume and use volume key only for my application?
I was just wondering if there was a way to control the volume for each application independently. For example I was using my droid for GPS navigation and music in my car the other day and kept getting shouted at by the navigation since the volume was turned up for the music. Needless to say it gets really annoying fast. This problem stems from the fact that all the apps have their volume control handled by the media volume control.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there an app that will increase media volume beyond what the phone naturally lets you?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI currently use Timeriffic, which has been great at managing settings for different times of the day. What I am looking for, however, is an application similar to that where I can define the sound behavior for one specific application.
What I am trying to do is make it so all notifications are at 10% volume during the night, but Id like to make notifications from Google Talk louder, like at 50%. I haven't been able to find anything that would allow a rule like that, but thought Id ask since you guys seem to know everything!
I'd like to use the volume buttons for something else in my Android application. The Dolphin browser does this I am told.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSome Android programs trigger the "media volume" slider when the hardware volume up/down buttons are pressed. My application seems to set the ringer volume when the hardware buttons are pressed. How would I enable the media volume slider? I would hate for users to have to go into their settings to change the media volume when they use my application.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I put my phone on "silent," its not suppose to make a sound. I have my media volume all the way down. When I get a call, it doesn't ring or vibrate or anything, but when I get a text, it rings. I searched through all the threads about the apps for the volume, but I want to know which one is the best free one. I really don't want a repeat of what happened in my class.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIf there was any app that would allow me to control volume of various other applications. One thing I really loved about my old Blackberry is I could set up a profile that muted everything except calls. When I go to sleep at night I want to be able to get a phone call in case of an emergency, but don't want to hear my email/twitter etc. Apps going off all night. Is there anything out there for my Moment that can accomplish this same thing?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm writing an Android application that plays back voice mails using Media Player, which are just WAV files that have been sent to the device. When I play the file, it's played on the device's speaker, or else it plays through headphones if they're plugged in. What I want to do is play the file so that it sounds to the user as if it's at the same volume level as a normal phone call. Is there a way to route playback so that the file is played through the phone's ear piece instead of out of the speaker?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn one page of my app there are sounds. Is there a line of code to allow the volume up/down buttons to switch to media volume control for that page of the app only? Or do I need to set it for the entire app, and how do I do that?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'd like to know how to control my application's volume from the volume keys (contrary to my belief , I've read they control only the ringer volume). Should I overwrite the onKey Down/Up? Or is there other way to accomplish this? I'm asking because if I overwrite the upper mentioned function for an activity, then the functions will receive the event only if a view associated with the this activity has the focus, and I'm looking for something "Globally" (to work no matter what activity is running now).
