Android :: Android Bluetooth API Connect To Multiple Devices At The Same TimeJun 2, 2010
It is possible to connect simultaneously to multiple bluetooth devices?
It is possible to connect simultaneously to multiple bluetooth devices?
I bought a stereo bluetooth receiver from DealExtreme for $13 so I could use it in my car. It has a built in mic, so if calls come in, I can pick them up, but I drive a convertible, so it's too noisy in the car to use that.
I also have a jawbone bluetooth headset that I use in the car...it works great for phone calls in a noisy enviroment.
I just discovered that if I go to Settings:Wireless Controls:Bluetooth Settings and long press on the BCK-08 (the stereo bluetooth module), I can select options, and uncheck the 'phone audio'.
Now, I can use both at the same time...and the cool thing is that if a call comes in while listening to music, it mutes the music till I hang up, then starts it back up where it left off!
whenever i try to get the files from my other phone i just cant use bluetooth..it just say pairedbut not connected and when i try to connecy it will not work..hope you can help me out with this..View 3 Replies View Related
I'm doing a college project on Bluetooth for Android, and I'm trying to understand how to manage communication between multiple connected devices. Eventually I'm going to develop a multiplayer Bluetooth Game.Currently I've adapted Android's sample app BluetoothChat to connect my three Nexxus One phones.1 connects to 2 who connects to 3.1 sends its messages successfully to 2. 3 sends its messages successfully to 2 as well. 2 can send its messages successfully to 1 and 3, as it shares a ConnectedThread with both. But I can't figure out.how to handle getting communication from 1 to 3. Does anyone have any examples of communication between multiple devices or has done this themselves?View 3 Replies View Related

Iam connecting 3G phone for my Android device for internet connection and another Socket(SPP) for CAN signal receiving.Whenever I manually connect to the Bluetooth tethering via 3G phone, i can browse internet perfectly and speed is good.Whenever programmatically connect to the 3G connection, i couldn't browse internet.i checked in shell and observing that in my mobile 'device is connected' message displayed and E symbol appears. No problem for me to connect Socket. But I got problem to use 3G phone. For this iam using APN/DUN mode.I checked both but no use.Is there any performance issue here or anything wrong to connect different devices by using Bluetooth API in android. Why this happends while connecting Mobile programmatically.View 1 Replies View Related
I was cleaning all the crap off my phone I don't use anymore and I believe I accidently removed the bluetooth software that allows it to connect to stereo bluetooth headsets. I can control the player with the headset, I can make phone calls from it, but when I try to play music there is no sound.
I was trying to reset the phone using RUU, but it reboots the phone and then says it cannot reconnect after that and the software shuts down. I can still sync with outlook, so my driver is not the issue. I am out of ideas.
Is there anyway possible to reinstall just the bluetooth portion of the rom?
What are the options to connect (create stream? or send datagrams?) between two android devices? (I know I can use Internet, but i think that lag will be big and it's overuse to just exchange data between to phones that are nearby). Is it possible to use bluetooth or wifi ? so two applications on two devices can connect each other (create bi- directional stream) and send some data.View 2 Replies View Related
I had no luck with connecting to my Galaxy using adb under Linux. Has anyone manage to do that? There is an unresolved issue (issue 4635) on code.google.com, which states that adb won't connect to non-HTC devices under Linux (?). From my experience, that is certainly true for Galaxy. Please tell me that I'm wrong. Debugging is on, and lsusb outputs.View 8 Replies View Related
All laptops should work, but what about other devices?
iPad - ok
PSP Go - It works I messed up. This is good news to me since it didn't work with my old iPhone and Palm Pre.
PS3- Works great too!
I have a question about the way the Android market handles purchased apps.I've seen in other posts where if you upgrade to a new phone, your purchased apps will follow you.But how about if you use more than one Android device? For instance, later this year I may get an Android tablet. Presumably the apps I purchased on my Droid will downloadable on the tablet. But will they remain downloadable on my Droid? And if I purchase an app on the tablet, will it also be downloadable on my Droid? It seems to me that if the apps are associated with your account, then you should be able to download them on multiple devices.I was just wondering if anyone has actually tried and confirmed this.View 3 Replies View Related

I know there isn't bluetooth API in 1.0 SDK, but I have a doubt. I need to know the visible bluetooth devices. That is, I only need do a scan of the bluetooth devices and save the diferent addresses. I don't need connect to them.
I have read here
that API "only expose functionality to use/control headsets (audio profile)."
And now my question: It is possible do this functionality? Can I find which bluetooth devices are visible?
I'm looking to create a button in my app that essentially does the same thing as if a user went to "Settings"->"Wireless & Networks"- >"Bluetooth settings" and opted to connect (or disconnect) to aView 7 Replies View Related
First - let me know if this is not the correct discussion group.
How do you remove a bluetooth device?
Path I'm taking:
- Wireless & Networks
- Bluetooth Settings
The only option I receive via menu is 'Scan for Devices'
Phone: HTC Hero w/ version 2.1
Got the phone, all bluetooth working just fine. Then my 2010 Jetta won't stay paired. Tried soft rest. Tried taking out battery. looked for updates. the best I get is a 5 sec connection and then disconnects. Now my ear bud wont stay connected ether. Any thoughts?View 9 Replies View Related
Is there any plan to increase the number of Exchange type accounts on HTC Android devices. Maybe in the new Sense Updates? Why did HTC not implement the code included in the stock Androind mail app (since at least 2.1), or at lease leave it alone! Since Hotmail has improved it's service to offer an Exchange style connection option there is a real day to day need to have at least two Exchange accounts on one device. I have been using the stock 2.2 android email client for some time and although it feeds into the unified calender app it does not feed into the Sense contacts ribon etc., I also goes high CPU at times (file conflict?) so is not a suitable workaround. And no I do not wish to use a third party app such as countdown, I like that with HTC's Sense system all things feed into a common thread - third party apps I have found have their own databases for email & calender etc. which I do not want.View 6 Replies View Related
Happy droid user on Nexus One. Thinking about playing around with one of those cheap android tablets. If I logon to that tablet with my google account, will it mess up my N1 and existing account/settings? Also what happens with my apps? can I download the ones I've paid for again (onto the new device)? etc.View 8 Replies View Related
First off, sorry if this is too subjective, I just didnt know how else/where to ask.Anyway, in the light of all my recent questions, I'm getting ready to release an Android app soon, and most of the testing has been done on my phone, the Droid. I really dont have the money to test on "multiple" devices, nor do I know anyone with an older phone that I could ask for help that would possibly get any kind of bug. Not to mention, when I do get a bug report, how would I go about fixing it for that particular phone without having to buy it to make sure it actually gets fixed, or that the person didnt just came across a one-time freakish accident of a glitch?View 4 Replies View Related

Galaxy S f/w 2.1. It doesn't find either of my bluetooth devices - headset and handsfree. My old phone worked fine on both of them.
I enable Bluetooth. The icon goes nice and green. The blue squiggly thing appears in the top bar.
I activate my VisorBlade hands-free device. It beeps and the right lights come on. But no glimmer of recognition from the Galaxy. I go to Settings > Wireless and Network > Bluetooth > Scan Devices. Nothing found.
I switch on my Plantronics Voyager 520 and it beeps and the right lights come on. Phone remains nonchalently aloof. Scan for devices. Nothing doing.
But. My PC finds the phone when I do the Make Device Visible thing.
is there any max limit that we can pair with bluetooth devices? How to check this limit.?
when i tried to pair with more than 15 devices, it becomes slow and later it doesnt pair.

My gf's computer is going south, but all she really does is go online. If I were to find a way to connect her Evo to a monitor (this should be easy with and HDMI cable, right?), a mouse (bluetooth?), and a keyboard (can you do two bluetooth devices at the same time?), she'd be able to essentially have a computer when she docks her phone to all this, right?
But, does Andoid have an app and Evo the capability to bluetooth to a mouse and keyboard and is the HDMI cable the way to go to get the display on a spare monitor, or could I use the USB? Just thinking out loud here. Cell phone processors are fast enough to handle internet browsing and emailing, which is pretty much all she does, and the speed of the connection (we're in a 4G area) would make downloads fast. How could it be done?
I am trying to use Bluetooth SPP to communicate over it. In some Android phones, SPP profile is not activated. I faced the problem in the application that SPP was not activated and so the connection could not be established over bluetooth and when I started another app that is 3g hotspot which I think activates SPP and I was able to connect over bluetooth in my app.
So, how can we actually activate SPP profile of bluetooth in Android devices? And does all the android devices has SPP profile?
I've spent hours trying to figure this one out with no luck. I have an LG Ally and Jabra BT350 earpiece. How do I remove Bluetooth devices from my list? I've tried everything. I can add as many as I want, but I can't figure out how to remove them!!View 1 Replies View Related

Since Bluetooth is sketchy on the Hero, I figure it would be useful to have a list of peoples' experiences with different devices. If you have a Bluetooth device, please reply with it's manufacturer, name, the exact OS you are using, and how well it works. I'll try to keep this post updated.

Bluetooth file transfer works with "paired but not connected" pairs between phones from 3D Gallery on one phone to the SD card on the other phone. But I can't seem to send anything else any other way. Has any Droid Eris owner got any of the bluetooth file manager programs to work between phones? If so please tell me the step by step procedure to effect a successful transfer?View 6 Replies View Related

I just got my Evo yesterday, and so far everything has been great! I did most of the suggestions in the battery fix threads, and I managed to only drop to about 60% battery after 24 hours, even with decent usage. The problem that I discovered today was that I seem to be unable to pair to any Bluetooth devices after turning the radio back on (first time trying to pair). When I turn everything on, I simply can't see anything when I search for devices. I put the earpiece that I'm trying to link to in discovery mode, and the phone never sees it. Neither does it see the printer Bluetooth interface or the PC Bluetooth. The printer, at least, should be always discoverable. Finally, I tried linking to my wife's phone, and it could neither see her phone when I set it to discoverable, nor could her phone see mine when I made it discoverable. It looks to me as if my Bluetooth radio is completely non-functional, but does anyone know if there may be something simple that I'm missing? A hidden setting or a Bluetooth diagnostic test that I could run (loopback or other)? Does anyone know if the Bluetooth module is integrated on the main PCA or is a add-on module that might be disconnected?View 1 Replies View Related

I'm trying to run two AsyncTasks at the same time. (Platform is Android 1.5, HTC Hero.) However, only the first gets executed.
Here's a simple snippet to describe my problem:
The output I expect is:
onCreate() is done.
bar bar bar
foo foo foo
bar bar bar
foo foo foo
And so on. However, what I get is:
onCreate() is done.
bar bar bar
bar bar bar
bar bar bar
The second AsyncTask never gets executed. If I change the order of the execute() statements, only the foo task will produce output.
Am I missing something obvious here and/or doing something stupid? Is it not possible to run two AsyncTasks at the same time?
I realized the phone in question runs Android 1.5, I updated the problem descr. accordingly. I don't have this problem with an HTC Hero running Android 2.1.
I had a basic question. Can my class extend 2 or more classes at a time. What is the syntax. I want to extend Activity as well as Application. Wont this create problems in the manifest file? Activity because, I need to do a couple of things during the onCreate() [binding a service]and Application, because I am creating objects of another class [service class]which needs to be accessible throughout my application.View 8 Replies View Related
