I'm looking for an app that calls don't get send to voicemail but just keeps ringing and ringing..
I have an issue where occasionally a call will go straight to my voicemail without ringing or otherwise notifying until there suddenly appears a voicemail. And I don't think it even shows up as a missed call. Anyone else have this happen or know what the cause may be? My phone is set to ring & vibrate, and is usually just sitting there asleep. I'm not on another call or otherwise using it. But I can test call it right after and it's fine. Frustrating.View 16 Replies View Related
I was looking for an API to send incoming calls to voicemail. I know this can be done using the Contact app that comes with any Android phones. But is there an API for this?View 2 Replies View Related
I am looking for an application that will send my calls directly to voicemail with no ring in between. I still want to be able to send and receive texts. I am trying to simulate my phone being turned off. If the caller hears even one ring, it will be assumed I am hitting ignore. Does such an application exist?View 7 Replies View Related
I know I could send calls straight to voicemail on my Samsung Moment, is there any way to do it with the Epic? I cannot figure it out, and I've got some people I really don't want to talk to that cannot take a hint.View 5 Replies View Related
Does anyone know of a setting that will send calls to voice mail automatically but still allow the phone to function normally otherwise?I use an application that needs to still have GPS functionality and network access (so Airplane Mode wouldn't work ).Can anyone direct me here?View 10 Replies View Related
For some reason, my Pone does not ring when there is incoming calls. I ported my number on Thursday and on Friday, I had rings with incoming calls. But since yesterday, I have not heard any rings. Calls are going straight to VM. I thought it was a Google Voice thing. GV is known to have this problem in the past.) Then, I disabled my cell number from GV and calls are directed to the Verizon VM. I have not changed any settings.View 1 Replies View Related
Google voice has been sort of flaky for me since I started using it.
I use my old number, and I only use google voice for voicemail, I have it set up on my phone and in google voice.
Sometimes if I decline a call they will get a verizon error message. And today out of boredom I called my cell phone from my work phone and it just rang...and rang...and rang....and rang...and voicemail never picked up. But then I got a notification from google voice that I had an 18 second long message which was completely silent. I did it again, same result.
I logged into google.com/voice and confirmed that my greeting is set up.
It's sad, because I love google voice. But if voicemail doesn't work then it has no value...I can't have people calling me hearing error messages or never getting to leave a message.
My wife just got the D2 a few weeks ago. It was working flawlessly. We put on a Azure case and Skinomi cover on the front screen 2 weeks ago. Starting last week she started to had a few of occasions it doesn't ring but goes straight to voice mail. Not always from the same caller. No unusual apps running. She also always has her Data turned off because she has the $15 dollar plan. She only uses the wifi's. She is not using Google voice. She is getting to the point that she is wondering if she should take her phone back because she has no clue who is calling because it does not say missed call she only knows if they call if they leave a voice mail.View 6 Replies View Related
Does anyone have the problem of the phone only ringing twice on incoming calls, the ringer then stops but the caller is still there, have I got a setting wrong, how can I get it to ring until I answer the call?View 1 Replies View Related
I'm on O2 UK and if my wife rings me from her O2 mobile or from our home landline my Desire doesn't ring but shows the missed call icon in the notification area. what happens on the phone you ring from i.e my wifes mobile or our landline all you here is 2 short rings then the phone goes dead.I only have wifi switched on and not the mobile network.that is to say I don't have the 'mobile network' option ticked in 'wireless & networks' screen. Has anyone else had this problem?PS the phone rings fine when I ring from say my work mobile or my work landline and also from other mobiles including ones on O2 UK. >PPS tried turning off the option 'Quiet ring on pickup' but that hasn't made any difference eitherView 12 Replies View Related
I'm developing an application for Android 2.2 that should send an SMS immediately when the phone starts ringing (under UMTS/GSM). I'm using the android.telephony.SmsManager.sendTextMessage for sending the SMS. The app is working fine under the emulator, i.e. when I call the emulator phone from another emulator, the SMS is sent instantly. However, when I'm testing the application on HTC Desire, the SMS sending only succeeds after the phone has stopped ringing. Is there anything that could be done about this or is it just a restriction of the HTC Desire device? Seems strange as it's working fine under emulator and it shouldn't be a restriction of the network..View 4 Replies View Related
Ive implement simple udp server on my Android device.(sdk 1.5) it works fine when i am running a local client on the phone sends through it trigger to my server. but when i try to get udp call from an outside server to my phone, it doesn't work. already make sure the outside server isn't blocked by firewall and it's sending the udp trigger to the right port, which my phone is listening to.View 1 Replies View Related
So my inbuilt email app works with my hotmail account and i can send and recieve emails, but it doesnt syncronise so when i delete an email on my laptop and then reload my email on my phone the email is still in the inbox.
Basically i just want an email app that lets me delete things and actually delete them rather than just deleting them on my phone and not on the actual server and obviously being able to send and recieve emails would also be good.
So just yesterday 12-1-09 my phone stopped receiving text messages and phone calls. People try to call me and get 4 rings then voicemail. My phone doesnt ring at all. I can place calls and browse the internet, run sprint navigation and all my apps just fine. It has been a perfect phone ever since I bought it. (11-01-09). I did a factory Hard Reset and still my phone didnt receive calls. Called Sprint and they had me turn off my phone and refreshed some info. Had to change the MSID # when i turned my phone back on but still nothing. Has anyone else had this happen to them. The only way I can receive my text messages is if I place a call then they seem to come through.View 2 Replies View Related
Although there are a few threads about calls going straight to voice mail in other phone sections, I have yet to see one here. From what I read, there isn't a solution, but I still want to ask being that it is now happening to my Sprint Hero. Anyone know what causes it, or if there is a setting one can change to stop it.View 14 Replies View Related

I'm finding it extremelly annoying that some calls are going straight to voicemail. When I'm at work I have a full strength signal, the phone sits on my desk all day but for some unknown reason, some calls go straight to voicemail.View 22 Replies View Related
when I first got my dinc. someone on here showed a awesome trick, by setting about a contact with the number as "Unavailable" you are able to set the contact to go directly to VM so you don't have to worry about those calls...Either VZW as changed something or it doesn't work on 2.2...how to make this work again?View 7 Replies View Related
I have a contact setup and have enabled the option to have their calls go directly to voicemail. I've got every number I know for this person listed. Seems like that's all I really need to do. So why am I here watchinghearing my phone ring right now on my desk and yes it's from the contact in question? I mean we've all got at least 1 person that we just do NOT want to talk to when they call. I can deal with a voicemail and call them back when I'm ready. But when I reach for my ringing phone and I see that contact's name. all I can say is WTF?View 3 Replies View Related
Has anyone had this problem?
Sometimes, when I receive calls, the phone will ring 2 or three times before going to voicemail - it is almost like I am rejecting the calls, which I know I'm not, as it tends to happen when I'm not even touching the phone.
Phone details are as follows:
I just "upgraded" from a Motorola droid to the HTC Incredible. I run the IT dept for my company and I get a lot of solicitation calls. On the Moto Droid, I created a contact called Ftards, everytime I get a call from somebody I don't want to talk to I add them to that contact, worked brilliantly.
Did the same thing on the Incredible, but it doesn't seem to work. I did a hard reset and created one contact, it worked, then I synced my exchange, still working, but when I woke up this morning, I got a call from Ftards and it came right through. The setting still says "on" but it isn't sending to voicemail
Is there a way to get rid of the HTC app "People" and install the Motorola app "contacts" This is driving me a little crazy..
Oh, and on a related note, if I assign a ringtone to a specific contact, that doesn't work either, it just plays the default ringtone when they call.
It seems as if my phone doesnt saying 3G it just shows bars doesnt even show 1X. Im wondering if there is a setting im missing or do i need to reset/update something.View 4 Replies View Related
I have used my Hero in 2 different countries and I get the same problem: Regardless of signal connection, I miss half (a guess) of all calls made to me. People tell me it finally dials after a few straight-to-voicemail tries. This didn't happen with any of my previous phones (Nokias and Motos), in both of the aforementioned countries. I really hope my rubber case has all to do with this because I bought the phone from eBay (i.e. no warranty).View 17 Replies View Related
So I just called Verizon, my original Eris was returned because I couldn't answer calls before they went to voicemail, and now I have the silent speaker bug, I can't hear anyone on through the speaker and they can't hear me on the other side. Has anyone had luck with the replacements? Maybe I'm just getting bad ones.View 1 Replies View Related
Certain callers will always leave a message saying "it's me, call me back" or something similar that is a PITA to have as a message.
Is there a way to disable calls from certain numbers from going to voicemail?
I saw that previous versions of android allowed you to send specific callers directly to voicemail, but I can seem to figure it out for this phone. Can anybody let me know or suggest an app that works with the evo?View 5 Replies View Related
Does anyone know how to make ALL calls go direct to voicemail? When i try to upload a large file to YouTube, FB, etc - an incoming call/SMS kicks me off; and, I have to start all over. I have found how to do this on the HTC, through Settings:Wireless:Mobile Networks.... but similarities stop there.View 1 Replies View Related
OK, so one of my most hated issues has just arisen with my hero:
It's sat on my desk, enjoying full signal. All of a sudden it chimes up that it's got a new voicemail. No missed calls, no nothing, just a voicemail.
I HATE THAT! Can't decide whether to scream at orange or whether to scream at HTC.
I know there is a way to send contacts straight to voicemail but is there an app that can block calls or can someone please make one.View 10 Replies View Related
There have been numerous times when people have tried to phone me and it's gone straight to voicemail. I know when using GPRS you can't use voice and data at the same time but I can't figure out what's using the data stream. I only have the weather application which updates every 3 hours but even when it's not due an update this issue has occurred. Can anyone suggest how to figure out what's using data? The only fix I can think of is to turn off Internet while in a GPRS area assuming the problem is a clash of data / voice.View 10 Replies View Related
Sort of two things which might be related. I've been having call quality issues with this phone since I got it. I thought it sounded very electronic and could hardly stay on the phone. Took it to a Sprint store and they did a soft reset and said they couldn't duplicate the issue. I made some calls, some said it sounded better. As long as I have the volume turned down it seems to be okay. But then it's hard to hear what they are saying. If I turn up the volume it sounds like someone is yelling too loudly too close to a microphone. Like bad speakers rattling or something (especially with "s" sounds).
On my headset which was $100 and worked so well on my old phone (people couldn't even tell I was on a headset) the person on the other side either says it's "okay" or says they can definitely tell I'm distant, to one friend saying it was "awful." When listening to Visual Voice Mail it's awful sound, regardless of the volume. Want to try to get a new phone, but then worried I'll have one of the other issues everyone else is having (WiFi or GPS or whatever).
When my friends call me, my phone starts ring between third and fourth free signal on theirs side, then the time I am realizing it rings and it's in voicemail already.very annoying.what makes this in-acceptable delay?View 3 Replies View Related

I'm having some serious issues with Visual Voicemail on my Droid. I get calls, miss them and people leave me VMs. I can see that I have them, I know what numbers they're coming from, but I can't listen to them. They won't download from the server. I thought I was out of space or something, so I deleted all of my stored VMs, but they still won't download. What is going on??? It's really becoming frustrating because some of these could have been critical VMs that I need to listen to.View 9 Replies View Related

"How to" I find said that if I select a contact, there should be a box to check for "send straight to voicemail". As far as I can discover, this does not seem to exist on my fascinate. Is there something I might have done that would make this disappear? Or is it something the fascinate doesn't have for some reason?View 1 Replies View Related
I come from the Samsung Moment where there was an option to send specific callers/contacts directly to voicemail without the phone ringing. I?ve had my HTC desire for about 3 weeks until now not had any problems, but now i can?t seem to make or receive calls or text. When I try to ring someone it just beeps and ends the call. When someone rings me it says unavailable. Nor can i send or receive texts. I?ve spoken to my network operator and everything is fine on their end and also got a new sim card from them just in case it was a sim card fault. Anyone know what the problem could be?View 4 Replies View Related

Even after numerous factory resets, through both the Volume Down+Send+End and Settings>Privacy>Factory Reset methods, my Eris has been unable to send or receive texts, and will not allow me to send or receive calls. When I try to text, I get an SMS error with Cause Code: 34 and Error Class: 3. When I try to call, I get an automated error saying that my phone can't be authenticated at this time, and am advised to call #8899. Even after doing so, I get the same authentication error. Wi-Fi seems to work correctly, and my Google and Facebook accounts all sync pretty much perfectly. Is anyone else having any kind of problem like this? And, either way, does anyone know of any possible alternatives that may fix the problem besides a total replacement of the phone?View 6 Replies View Related
